Despite it being a stand-alone, the amount of worldbuilding is so lush and extended. There are twists and turns and everything is absolutely not as it seems starting on page one.īesides this book being a murder mystery, it is also a fantasy. The book kept putting me on the wrong leg, pushed me in the wrong directions and I kept saying ”Wait, what?”. ![]() But I just couldn’t crack the murders of the four queens. I love watching police/detective series because I like figuring out who did it, how and why, and, without bragging, I thought I was getting pretty good at it. What I enjoyed most about this book is the murder mystery part. I stayed up late, had many reading sprints and just picked this up every moment I was able to as I kept being curious about what the next page would bring. I devoured this book in a few days as I just couldn’t put it down. “Sometimes failure is the beginning of success.” ★★★★★ ![]()
